Tell me about the March 26th event!
Our first live screening since 2019 is at the beautifully remodeled VIFF Center in Yaletown, downtown Vancouver. Doors will be at 10am - musical guests Raincity will be in the house and the VIFF Centre concession will be open with snacks and drinks, the event will begin at 11am. There are two halves to our program with an intermission mid-way. We'll wrap up our time in the Center's cozy theater with a Q+A with attending filmmakers, then head to our afterparty at The Morrissey to socialize, network, and celebrate!

Please note, because these films are unclassified it is a 19+ event!

Where can I find out more information?
More information is always available on our website. If you have further questions, please send an email to hello@cinemaspectacular.com

How accessible is the venue?

The VIFF Centre is a wheelchair accessible venue! More information can be found here. Our program is also available to watch from the comfort of your own devices until April 1st via our screening portal.

How can I help?
Cinema Spectacular is a small festival with a small budget! Interested in volunteering? We're always looking for help postering the town, and support volunteers for our event - get in touch here if you'd like to hang out with us! Don't have the capacity to volunteer in-person? Word-of-mouth is HUGE for us - tell a friend, tell a bunch of friends, invite a friend to our Facebook event! We're on the feeds over at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube. We're very shareable 🥰

What happens to Cinema Spectacular after 2023?
As you may have heard, 2023 is our final festival year. We've had a great run since 2014! Our website will remain up, and our socials will remain passive - largely to help spread the word about other Canadian local cinema projects and supportive infrastructure. But our festival will cease to run. We recommend checking out our resources page for more great Canadian festivals, coops, and more to keep the local cinema love alive!
