Gordon Mihan - Coached (NB)
Gordon Mihan is a Fredericton-based screenwriter and film director. His most recent short film Coached was nominated for Best Screenwriting and Best New Brunswick Short at the Silver Wave Film Festival. He has been an avid participant of the Fredericton 48 Hour Film Competition for the past 8 years Gordon is a member of the New Brunswick Film Co-operative.
Cassandre Émanuel - Long Time (QC)
Cassandre Émanuel is an actress, author, director and director from Amos, Abitibi. Since her theatrical performance at Collège Lionel-Groulx in 2012, she has been involved as an actress in several short film projects. On screen, she plays Coralie in the "O" series, directed by Éric Tessier, Sister Marie-Rose in Léa Pool's "La Passion d'Augustine", an employee in the experimental film "Que ta joie demeure". "by Denis Côté, as well as Maya in the web-series "Trak "on Vrak.tv directed by Simon Barette. In the theater, she interprets among other things the title character in the play "Métusse", Ondinok theater and the octopus woman in "Euphoria", produced by Les Viscères. She staged "L'Épitaphe" and "D'espoit de mourir maigre" production of the "Tournure", "Le jeu du mort" by Francis Parisot, production nominated for the prize for the best French production Fringe 2015. She writes and directs "Monsieur Victor", who won the prize for the best French production at the Fringe Festival 2012, as well as "AEt les amoureux auront des cataractes". She is also the first assistant director in several projects, including the short film "Metalheart" directed by Patrick Bilodeau and Steven Ouellette produced by Sport and the video "The Way You Want Me" by Joëlle Arseneau Production & Le Pied marin production. She also directed the short film "Brandy" written by Catherine-Audrey-Lachapelle, as well as "En attendant l'hivernation" which she also signs the script. With the collective Salut Poivre, she co-directed the short film "Dents" and "Couvre-feu" as part of the Festival des DocuMenteurs de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
Brendan Prost - In the Shadow of the Mountain (BC, ON)
Brendan Prost is a prolific filmmaker from Calgary, currently based in Toronto. He is best known as the dogged and unabashedly personal young auteur behind four no-budget feature films that have screened theatrically across Canada, and are now available online.
Brendan’s credits also include an eclectic set of short films, characterized by their earnest spirit and particular emphasis on performance, which have screened at festivals across Canada and the United States. He is a graduate of Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts, and was recently a resident in the Directors’ Lab at the Canadian Film Centre.
Matthew Hayes - locked in away (ON)
Matthew Hayes is an independent filmmaker and PhD candidate at Trent University. He has made over ten short films, which have screened throughout Canada, the US, and Europe. He recently completed his first feature-length documentary "Pushback", about poverty and homelessness in Peterborough, Ontario.
Victoria Mohr-Blakeney is a curator, writer, and choreographer with a focus on contemporary performance and interdisciplinary creation. She has curated/ co-curated performance work in gallery, theatre, and site-specific settings including Harbourfront Centre, CB Gallery, Edward Day Gallery, Artspace, Art Gallery of Ontario, The Citadel, George Brown School of Design, Scotiabank Studio Theatre, Nuit Blanche, and Artsweek Peterborough. Victoria is currently Performance Curator at Public Energy performing arts in Peterborough, ON, and holds an MFA in Criticism and Curatorial Practice from OCAD University. Victoria has published work in Kapsula Magazine, The Dance Current, Toronto Standard, Peterborough This Week, and the Literary Review of Canada. She is the recipient of the 2015 President’s Medal in Criticism and Curatorial Practice from OCAD University. She has presented her research on performance in Canada and New Zealand.
Dominic Fegan - Roller Skates & Hand Grenades (NS)
Originally from the UK, Dominic Fegan had a childhood full of travel and adventure which has carried into his adult life. He now lives and works in the North End of Halifax, Nova Scotia. He has a passion for design and storytelling through visual media and loves the outdoors. He seems to have a finger in every pie, never settling, and is always striving to learn and expand his understanding of life. Roller Skates & Hand Grenades is the third film he has made.
Tracey Lavigne - Glitter (NB)
Writer/director Tracey Lavigne is a Canadian filmmaker based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Since joining the New Brunswick Fimmakers’ Co-operative in 2014, she has pursued a hands-on film education by working on as many sets as she possibly can. Her work has garnered multiple awards, and she has become sought after in her film community as a production designer. “Glitter” is her directorial debut.
Douse - The Importance of Each Other (BC)
Perhaps the most interesting work comes when bands allow themselves to be free from genre constraints, who find their own form of navigation, unearth new and inventive ways of stirring the emotions of those of us lucky enough to find ourselves along for the ride. Douse are one such band, a Vancouver trio that, upon first glance, fit neatly within the lineage of good old Canadian indie-rock, but one, also, who have carved out a space of their own, finding ever intriguing and impressive ways of delivering their work. Veering between subtle, ambient moments of restraint and powerful moments of aggression, Alea Rae Clark, Jeremiah Ackermann, and Patrick Farrugia, make music that is both spacious and grandiose, both subtle and powerful.
Trevor Solway - TRENCH (AB)
Trevor Solway is a Blackfoot filmmaker from Siksika Nation. He comes from a long line of ranchers and spent most of his childhood on his grandparents’ ranch. Storytelling has always been a passion of his and in 2012 he moved to Vancouver to take the Independent Indigenous Digital Filmmaking program at Capilano University. He recently graduated with his Bachelor of Communications from Mount Royal University.
Kelly Tatham - Multiverse Dating for Beginners (BC)
Kelly Tatham is a writer, director, and producer focused on telling urgent, innovative narratives. With a love for blending genres and, in particular, incorporating magic realism in her stories, Tatham loves continuous camera movement, long takes, and as much oval bokeh as she can garner. Always seeking to entertain, Tatham also aims to engage and provoke the viewer, questioning cultural norms through witty dialogue and playful metaphors such as parallel universes.

Mike Hooves - G.E.M. (AB)
Mike Hooves is a Calgarian illustrator, animator, and newbie filmmaker. Within their work they explore what it means to exist as a femme in a colorful, whimsical, and rough around the edges manner. When not painting Mike is an enthusiastic birdwatcher and drag performer.
Susanne Serres - ZAYA (QC)
Susanne Serres is a young screenwriter/filmmaker who aspires to create powerful and tender cinematographic pieces of art. She recently wrote and directed ZAYA, her latest short film. She hopes to begin working on the filmmaking production of the feature film version of ZAYA in a near future. This young artist has a background studies in cinema (CEGEP Ahuntsic), visual arts (Collège Bois-de-Boulogne), dramaturgy (coaching au Centre de création scénique), writing (BLACK THEATER WORKSHOP) and photography (CFP Lachine). In January 2018, Susanne has been selected to begin an intensive 6 months formation program at INIS, the greatest cinema school in Quebec. She will be formed to become a professional filmmaker by working with professionals of the cinema industry.
