Laurel K Brown - Festival Director

Laurel started Cinema Spectacular in 2014 and continues to build it into a stronger, more supportive event each year. She's a local cinematographer, videographer, and lighting technician. After finishing her BFA, Laurel wanted to connect to the Canadian film community and get to know filmmakers living and working within the country. She has a soft spot for animation, small creatures, and ice cream.

Jessica Seymour - Volunteer Coordinator

Jessica is a producer in film and television.  She has experience in all aspects of film production, having run her own production company for many years in both Canada and overseas.  Currently at a commercial animation studio during the day, she continues to produce, shoot and consult in the live action world on the side.  She also produces and works with numerous events and is a founding member of OK Social, an after-work event for people in the creative industries.

Jessica has an education in Philosophy and Film Production from Simon Fraser University.

Rebecca Matzov - Press Coordinator

Rebecca Matzov is a Vancouver based actor and filmmaker. Her interest in Cinema Spectacular is founded in her interest in creative Canadian content. Most of the work Rebecca does is American content that is brought to Canada to take advantage of the beautiful landscapes and established film industry in British Columbia. However the opportunities to work on purely Canadian project seems to be a rarity. This year, Rebecca will be helping Cinema Spectacular with Press and Student Outreach. She's very excited for the conversations to come, and hopes to effectively spread the word about this exciting opportunity to see Canadian films, and to celebrate some of the artists working in Canada!
