Singer/Songwriter first and foremost, as a filmmaker Elliot C. Way has a keen sense of aesthetics. He likes good humour, rock n’ roll and authentically vintage vibes.What we tried to do with the “Even The Greats” video is have some good old fashion fun. In a world that seems to bombard you with overwhelming intensity and seriousness, finding humility and humour is sometimes hard. We wanted the band in acting roles exploring a world that their sound and energy creates. We used cameos from multiple members of Vancouver’s local music scene making the entire production an entire community experience for our friends and peers. Both Rob and I, the producers, are long-time Vancouver music veterans, so the cast is essentially our extended family. The vibe, the location, the wardrobe and the story all play to the overall sound and aesthetic of the song and lifestyle of being a throwback vintage rock ‘n’ roll band. The story is an homage to all kinds of iconic television and movies: bad cheesy 70s detective shows; B-movie green screens, practical effects, and smokey dim lit dive bars. Hopefully for the audience this combination is an effective formula for a bit of respite from the world’s madness, and a chance to laugh and enjoy one wild ride adventure!

Producer/DOP Biography – Rob Zawistowski
Rob is a DP based in Vancouver, Canada. He began his career directing and producing music videos in the Vancouver heavy scene, and established himself through rigorous work ethic and attention to detail. His work has been featured internationally among festivals and online publications. His cinematic, narrative music video style has led to a fruitful transition into Narrative short films – several of which have won awards and selections at film festivals abroad. Rob is also an editor and colorist.
A taxidermied hawk appears as bandleader Elliot C. Way stumbles upon writing the ultimate song. The hawk helps unite musicians across the city to perform the piece while evading a pesky cop duo who are hot on his tail.
